I listen to all kinds of music, depending on my moods, time of day, etc. One of my favorite New Age artists is David Helpling. He has a new album coming out and you can check out his stuff at www.deepexile.com
I don't care for teh bubble gummy Yanni stuff. This guy is very ambient and spacey. You can hear his stuff on that site.

Yeah I can listen to anything from Dio to Duran Duran myself. Any music that is good no matter who the artist is. I remember getting Diver Down by Van Halen and Breaking it in 2 after listening to it once. Man that tape sucked. That David Helpling music is pretty good, very relaxing. My Dad would probably really like it. Mike : )

Everytime I think of New Age music I think of Yanni and John Tesh.

And then I am very, very, sad. Crying or Very sad

well tho i am a 80s rocker and metal head mostly, like alot of that electronic style music and orchestration. Heck even John Williams is like an idol to me :O) not just because i am a Star Wars fan but hes done music for HarryPotter, Indiana Jones, etc etc. The music he composes litterally actually tells you a story, the way he peices everything together like that. But alas, I am a wanna be composer myself and I guess to every composer out there idolizes some major composer one way or another.

I am also in to electronic music too, Like Enigma and Enya, I just like that surreal sound of the synths, (say that fast three times hehe).

I seen Yanni in concernt on tv local PBS channel along time ago and acutally got into the music, combining orchestration and electronic music is like a something I wanted to do for a long time. Tho i didnt care for himas a performer, as he seemed to be overdoing his acting production way overboard, during the performance so i wasnt really impressed with that, but the music was still kinda interesting the way it was peiced together.

But if you havent known by now I am a HUGE Pink FLoyd fan too, basically for the same reasons thier music also tells a story and the way they peice everything together, even in just one song, is always been my major influence too! They arent like all the other bands you hear, that repetitive, verse chorus, verse chorus, style music. Bacially all the ones I mentioned above are not like that at all.

Well a penny for my thoughts, and I guess thats my two cents. Ohhh, someone is making a penny. Razz

Electronic music is my fave also. From the 80's New Wave, to the pioneers of electronic, Kraftwerk (who I thankfully saw in Canada back in 2005), and then on to the electronic New Age Stuff.
I also like rock bands that incorporate the keyboards while not being too overbearing. Rush, Saga, and Pink Floyd did this, and the who had some good songs with keyboards too.

One of the ones that comes to mind that was my favourite for a long time every since I could remember was "Baba O'Riley"! I really liked that synthy intro arppegiation! Smile

-edit- SAGA.. man i havent heard them in years. I bought a cassette "Worlds Apart", I think it was, back in the 80s, just for that one particular song "On The Loose", which was my favourite song, hehe. I think due to Mtv, back then, used to played these songs to death, that they become ones favourites after a spell. hehe!

The whole album was pretty good. It has been in my cassette box all these years. Man i gotta start getting back to putting these to cd!! Smile
