My Personal favorite is CONTRA. I bought the XBOX 360 Live Arcade Version and think the NES Version plays much better. I still play it all the time at my store on the PlayChoice-10. Same as the NES Version and the 30 man code is easy to input with the Arcade Controls. Mike : )

Close Seconds for me:

SM3
SM2
Mega Man 2
Ninja Gaiden
Snow Brothers

If I still had my power glove (and yes, I was that retarded to buy that piece of crap back in the day), super glove ball was my favorite.

Otherwise, I'd have to go Guardian Legend.

Yeah there's a whole article about how nintendo made them change things in the game for the nes version on maniac mansion.

Day of the tentacle is really cool, actually Lucasarts made a bunch of adventure games and they are all really sweet, there is an open source emulator called SCUMMVM that lets you play them all in windows. I love all the lucasarts games there's the Monkey Island Series, some Indiana Jones games, Full throttle, Sam and max and a few more they are all really funny and lots of fun.

Baseball Stars was my favorite. I also liked Rescue: The Embassy Mission. To me it was a new perspective on shooters.

My favorite games for the nes are as follow:

*Mario Bros. 1 & 3 (2 kinda sucked imo)
*Double Dragon 2: The Revenge
*Master Blaster
*Contra
*MT's Punch Out
*Castlevania

I really can't decide which one would be first cuz they all had their pros and cons but this are my top ones!
