Although I can think of like 2 dozen off-hand I'm gonna go with...

Wild Arms series. (Light the tiles in the correct order with MINIMAL hints)

Lolo2 NES (later levels get difficult to the point of chuck-it-at-the-wall)

Milons Secret Castle NES - (wth am i s'posed to do with half the items i CAN find....lol...)

and lastly...Onimusha 1 (That slide-the-tile japanese tile sliding f@#ki$# thing WHILE water pours in to kill you..never solved that one.. >.< )
