Baseball stars Professional and King of Monsters were my favorites. Marc's Funtime Pizza at Southland had a 4 game MVS unit there. The other two were the golfing game, and I forget the other.

I never really got into the Neo Geo, but I did think Baseball Stars was a great game.

I Like the Baseball Stars but Tom always seemed to kick my A$$ at it. Now Windjammers I can be pretty competitive with the best. I won a Windjammers Tournament at a Classic Gaming Convention in Cinci one year. Mike : )

WGCL98 and I have a few games that have stood the test of time for good competition. We play John Elway's Team Quarterback (4 player arcade machine in my living room) all the time with heated battles. We also play the old Atari 8-bit classic by Gamestar called Star League Baseball. We have played that game for over 20 years against each other.

I can name dozens of other baseball games that are better cosmeticaly, but there is none that keep you on the edge of your seat like the two you mentioned have. It is amazing how we go on streaks playing them. For a while, I couldnt touch you, and then the tides turn. This is the kind of excitement that money can not buy. 20+ years of heated battles at the same game. Kids today would never understand.

It was all about the gameplay, that is why it was fun. We did not need fancy graphics back then, and still for that matter.
And you do not need a college degree to play the game. I received MLB 2006 for the 360 as a gift and played it once. The controls made the game impossible, and not a lot of fun.

Some of the games they had if my memory serves me correctly:

Magician Lord
Nam 1975
King of the Monsters
Baseball Stars Professional
2020 Super Baseball
Eight Man
Robo Army
Sengoku
Fatal Fury

Those are about it if i recall. I was always playing fatal fury or 2020 constantly.
