Does anybody really know the point to these games?

Please let me know!

The games were a sort of contest to win some Treasure. I believe the numbers that popped up when you cleared a room would match up with a word in the Comic Book that came along with the game. Unfortunately the Final Game Airwold was never released so I'm not sure if the Treasure was ever won. I am sure that would make an amazing eBay auction if it ever surfaced. Mike : )

I always thought that those games would have been too hard just by the prizes themselves.
I never played them but recalled the "hype" around them. That was an interesting article which made sense with the contest ending early as it was just around the time that the 2600 was on it's way out.

I didn't know that it was supposed to be the sequel also. I understand why they stopped marketing the game, but if they HAD marketed it as the sequel to Adventure, I would have played them. Adventure was one of the first 2600 games I owned besides the obligatory Air-Sea Battle that came with my Sears Tele-Games, and Space Invaders. I used to play Adventure non stop. I would just navigate around the game after I killed the duck, I mean the dragon, and see what else I could find.
