I was hesitant to buy one, but I was in the market for a neat little gaming handheld and almost bought a DS Lite or a DSI XL. After seeing and trying a 3DS I knew I had to have it. The controller was the main sell. The sliding joystick pad, or whatever they call it is awesome. It is very responsive and not awkward to use. I bought Pilot Wings as I was a big fan of it on the Super Nintendo. The game is a lot of fun and very similar in gameplay to the original. Not too hard, but not something that I could finish on the first try. Maybe the young kids can beat it easily, but being an older gamer, I have found I lack the patience and skills that I used to have. I found myself buying the Atari Greatest Hits Vol 2 looking for the classics. This is an ok game but it would shine if my buddy (cough cough, WGCL98) would buy a DS so we can network play and I can kick his rear in yet another game. I was always a fan of Combat on the 2600. Its on the game and would be a lot of fun with two players.
I do look forward to the WIIWare being available when Nintendo gets it up and running for downloadable content. Even though the new games are really cool, I would prefer the simplicity of the NES games due to my lack of free time to dedicate to a game and my shortening attention span.
I have no regrets buying the 3DS. It wasn't cheap, but the technology is pretty cool. The 3D works surprisingly well. When I turned the 3D on full blast it actually made me feel queasy. I turn it to the lowest setting for comfort reasons, but it's cool.

Yeah, I am waiting for when I can transfer my DSi download content to my 3DS. Bring on the Mario and Zelda games already. I just have the Pilotwings and Ridge Racer games. I have a few other used titles at my store I should try out. I will have to get a copy of the Atari Hits 2 and practice up. Mike : )
